Advanced Energy Appoints Director of Investor Relations

FORT COLLINS, CO (June 7, 2000) -- Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) today announced that it has appointed Catherine Kawakami to Director of Investor Relations, a newly created position. Richard Beck, Chief Financial Officer, said, "We are pleased to have Catherine on board to manage and direct Advanced Energy's investor relations program. Based on her previous experience in both investor relations and the semiconductor industry, she is the ideal candidate to drive the company's investor communication effort forward."


Ms. Kawakami has served in various investor relations positions over the past seven years. Most recently, she was the Manager of Investor Relations for E-LOAN, Inc. Prior, she was a Vice President at The Financial Relations Board/BSMG Worldwide where she managed investor relations programs for a number of companies within the semiconductor equipment industry. While there, Ms. Kawakami worked with Advanced Energy as an investor relations consultant for over four years.
